Cüneyt Çakır (b. 23 November 1976, Istanbul) Turkish football referee.

The Background and Relationships

He has been a FIFA-listed referee since 2006, and registered in Istanbul, Kadikoy discrict.

He is owner of a insurance agent which is in Kadıkoy that is symbolised by Fenerbahce in Turkish Football Leauge.[1]

He was invited to mentor course byUEFAin 2007 and after training there he began to be assigned international matches.

  • Şike soruşturması sırasında Aziz Yildirim'ın özel evrakı arasından çıkan ve kamuoyunda Aziz's List olarak bilinen hakem listesinde ismi Fenerbahce'li olarak geçmektedir. [2]
  • According to Turkish daily Radikal report based on police records, Fenerbahce chairman Aziz Yildirim allegedly called the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), before his team’s derby match between Besiktas and Fenerbahce and said Appoint Cuneyt Cakir to the derby match, send me Cuneyt ! The February 20, 2011 derby, which was officiated by Cuneyt Cakir and ended in a 4-2 win for Fenerbahce, was seen as one of the more important milestones in the Fenerbahce’ march to the eventual championship.   • On 20 December 2011, a reception and press presentation in his honor was held by Turkish Football Federation (TFF), in Istanbul. The real reason for this strange meeting was not never understood. [5][6]
