The district is home to the Turkish football club Fenerbahce SK's home venue, the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. Before Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium was built, the field was known as Papazin Cayiri (The field of the priest) and was property of the Catholic Community. Arazi, 6 Temmuz 1932'de, dönemin Adalet bakanı ve aynı zamanda Fenerbahce başkanı olan Sukru Saracoglu'nun çıkardığı özel bir yasa ile el koyuldu ve Fenerbahce'ye sembolik bir bedelle devredildi.
