Fenerbahce players and referee celebrate their goal with enthusiasm in a Turkish League Match

Fenerbahce SK is a Turkish sports club, based in Kadikoy District, Istanbul, Turkey. The club has 18.283 official members as of 2011.

Fenerbahce SK won an 18th Süper Lig title in the 2010–11 season. The team were nine points behind the leaders after 16 games, but went on an unbeaten run of 17 wins and one draw from the last 18 games of the season and won the title with 82 points. Trabzonspor also finished on 82 points but finished second due head-to-head goal average in favor of Fenerbahce. Following the season's end club president Aziz Yildirim and managers were remanded in custody over allegations of match-fixing.

On 15 August 2011, The Report of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF)'s Ethics Committee, presented to the general assembly of the TFF, before the intervention of political power in the Turkey. The First Report of the TFF's Ethics Committee (340 pages) completely hidden from public scrutiny and FIFA and UEFA. But, summary section of the report (38 pages) leaked to the press. Prof.Dr.Oguz Atalay, chairman of the committee, confirmed that document published in the press is the actual original document.

On 24 August 2011 Fenerbahce was withdrawn from the Champions League by UEFA, because of an ongoing match-fixing investigation.

On 2 July 2012 Turkish court convicted and sentenced Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yildirim to 6 years and 3 months in prison on match-fixing charges. Fenerbahçe Vice President Sekip Mosturoglu was sentenced to 1 year 10 months and 10 days in prison and the other Vice President of Fenerbahçe was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison.

On 10 August 2012, Istanbul 16th High Criminal Court announced its reasoned final decision regarding the match-fixing case, with all the criminal evidence; Videos, Tapes, Money Transfers etc.

On 17 August 2012, UEFA Champions League was sponsored by Fenerbahce SK's main sponsor Koc Group (Yapi Kredi Bank) for $30.000.000.[1] It is still unknown, why is a local Turkish bank that is inactive in Europa, became a sponsor of UEFA.

On 31 August 2012, Fenerbahce SK was included in the drawing of lots for UEFA Europa League, with the permission of UEFA.
