Aziz Yıldırım

Aziz Yıldırım (b. 2 November 1952), military contractor and chairman of Fenerbahce SK.

Biography

He started a military construction and the arms trade business; and founded Maktas Muhendislik in 1979. For two years, he acted as chairman at Anadolu Üsküdar football club during 1981–82 and 1982–83 seasons. [1]

Fenerbahce Management

He resumed his career in football administration in 1990 when he became Director of Football at Fenerbahçe in the 1990–91 and 1991–92 seasons. He became Fenerbahce SK's chairman in 1998.

Match-fixing Organisation in 2011

On July 3, 2011, Yıldırım was taken into custody over allegations of several cases of match fixing and player manipulation

On July 2, 2012 Turkish court convicted and sentenced Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yildirim to 6 years and 3 months in prison on match-fixing charges. Fenerbahçe Vice President Sekip Mosturoglu was sentenced to 1 year 10 months and 10 days in prison and the other Vice President of Fenerbahçe was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison.

On August 10, 2012, Istanbul 16th High Criminal Court announced its reasoned final decision regarding the match-fixing case.[2]
